I wanted to email you to advise how much I enjoyed snorkeling. Since I'm 58 years old, not a swimmer and deathly afraid of water, my intention for signing up on your tour was to merely accompany my niece and watch her have fun. Never in a million years did I think I could actually participate! I attribute my fun experience all to Nicole. She is not only a very nice, friendly individual, but she exudes professionalism and confidence in her skills. My deepest, deepest most sincere appreciation to your wonderful staff for the most memorable time of my life....truly.  I have dubbed Kailee my new Fear Therapist.  She never left my side in what turned out to be probably something on the top five of my fear list and I did not even realize it until I got out there.  I worked thru a lot of fear and can't wait to get back and do it again.  Natalie (Nicole) was great and has such a deep respect for the ocean and all that lives in it....and both made my first snorkel experience the best ever.  They both took such great care in making sure we all understood now fragile the space was we were about to enter.  I have a new respect for the ocean, even more than I thought.  Thanks so much for what you did for me.  It was fabulous....I am writing to the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook author as well for his recommendation.

Remember the private Waimea Canyon tour you did on October 28th with the Japanese-and-American-mostly-seniors group?   I'm Phyllis, who sat next to you.  We all had a good time on the tour!  My husband's relatives even commented later that the tour guide was funny, which gave us pause since they couldn't understand anything you said...  Then we remembered that your noise imitations crossed the language barrier!

Swimming with Sea Turtles

If you didn't know about Prince Kuhio Beach Park, or its neighbor, Lawai Beach, you might drive right by them. But don't let appearances fool you. Rocky, postage-stamp-sized Prince Kuhio Beach is the place for snorkeling encounters of the green-shelled kind—that is, with the group of green sea turtles that regularly graze and snooze amid the seaweed-draped rock ledges here.

In Hawaiian mythology, these graceful, speckled creatures, called honu, acted as aumakua, or godlike guardians. Today, the law requires that you keep a respectful distance from this protected species; however, if you are swimming near them, one or two gentle giants may paddle a little closer to check you out. Because ocean currents here can be tricky, go with a knowledgeable guide, like those from Aloha Kauai Tours. The company's snorkeling trip also stops at adjacent Lawai Beach, an unassuming strip of sand where the waters teem with up to 140 sea-life species, including prison-striped Moorish Idols, unicorn fish and octopi (alohakauaitours.com). Finding Nemo should be a cinch!

 Hi Terri, just wanted to say I had a fantastic snorkeling trip with Paul a couple of weeks ago. He did a great job with our little group, particularly as we were all very inexperienced, and enabled me to see particularly the turtle. Following this I went out again myself a couple more time when we went to the Big Island.

If one wants to get up close and personal with the rainforest then this is the shore excursion for you...The ride us bumpy-as advertised. Our guide, Jack, was very informative and quite knowledgeable of the area and its local history. Overall, this was a very enjoyable tour. Our family of 5 adults took the 1/2 day Backroads tour. Our guide was Paul Miranda and he was terrific. He has a great sense of humor, and is very knowledgeable about local history, plants and animals. The ride is a little bumpy - but totally worth it! The views are spectacular from the top of the crater, and the drive through the tunnel was very exciting. Snacks were provided, including water and fresh fruit, at a beautiful beach setting. All in all, a great way to spend the morning, you will see parts of Kauai you won't see in your rental car!

Kailee was especially good with assistance into the water, while in the water, and then exiting the water and beach.
